During World War II, a village in Casamance engaged in passive resistance by refusing to give rice to the colonial army.
In 1942, during World War II, in a village in Casamance, Senegal, the Diolas refuse outside intervention. Part of the village's men were forcibly sent to the Franco-German front. Colonel Armand and his colonial army must requisition rice to send to the troops. In France, De Gaulle succeeds Pétain, but for Africa, nothing has changed. Responsible for the harvest, the women decided this time to resist and hide the rice.
