Moolaadé

Senegal/France/Burkina Faso/Cameroon/Marocco/Tunisia

In an African village, women stand up against the excision of young girls.

In a Senegalese village, Collé Ardo refuses to accept that her only daughter should be excised, a ritual she deems barbaric. The news spreads throughout the country, and four young girls seek asylum, the "Moolaadé," from Collé Ardo. In the village, proponents of tradition and modernity clash.
